Joint Call on the Commission to Reconsider Surface Temperature Factor Requirement

The signatory organisations call on the European Commission not to introduce Surface Temperature Factor (fRsi) – frame and glazing bars – as essential characteristics for windows and hatches, pedestrian doorsets, individual rooflights and individual roof hatches as well as continuous rooflights. Condensation and mould risks depend on the building, the installation, the climate and occupant behaviour and should therefore be addressed through installation rules, not through product characteristics that cannot be meaningfully declared in an isolated DoPC.
