EuroWindoor Urges Balance Between Legal Requirements and Practical Implementation Under the CPR

Frankfurt, May 2026 – Following the CEN/TC 33 plenary meeting on 16 April 2026, at which the Commission positions on key issues relating to the draft Standardisation Request for windows, doors and related products under the Construction Products Regulation (EU) 2024/3110 were presented, EuroWindoor has submitted a detailed response.

EuroWindoor identified several unresolved issues of significant concern to the European window and door sector. Given the tight timeline, the intention is to finalise the draft Standardisation Request before the summer break, EuroWindoor prepared a response covering several topics.

For each Commission position, EuroWindoor outlines the specific challenges facing the industry and puts forward concrete proposals for practical implementation. The topics addressed include normative references, scope and structure of door standards, the treatment of NSHEV products, essential characteristics and assessment methods, the declaration of component values for thermal performance, substances declaration requirements and the Representative Product Type approach under AVS 3.

A key concern throughout is the disproportionate administrative burden on manufacturers, particularly SMEs, if certain proposals are implemented without adjustment.

EuroWindoor remains committed to constructive collaboration with the Commission and all stakeholders and stands ready for further discussion.
